The operation of the waterways in the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River during the National Day holiday was safe, stable, and orderly.
During the National Day holiday, the Yangtze River Nanjing Channel Bureau adhered to early planning, early arrangement, and early implementation, firmly enforced responsibilities, and made every effort to maintain the navigation channel of the Yangtze River Nanjing section. The navigation channels within the jurisdiction operated safely, smoothly, and orderly, providing strong support for economic and social development along the river as well as secure and convenient passage for ships.
Before the holiday, the bureau held a special meeting to deploy key safety tasks for the holiday, analyze and assess the navigation channel operation situation during the holiday, and clarify the division of responsibilities for various units and departments. The bureau leadership led night navigation inspections, conducting safety production checks using the "four nos and two straights" approach, creating issue lists and setting deadlines for rectification. Each navigation channel office reviewed and sorted out key areas such as bridge zone waters and major waterways based on the characteristics of their jurisdictions, improving holiday channel maintenance plans to ensure responsibilities are assigned to posts and tasks to individuals.
During the holiday, in response to water level changes and weather conditions, the bureau closely monitored meteorological trends, strengthened communication with maritime, meteorological, and hydrological departments, increased the frequency of channel inspections, and promptly assessed dynamic updates of navigation channel markers. A total of 409 navigation markers within the jurisdiction were inspected and maintained, deploying 10 maintenance vessels stationed on the front lines of the navigation channel, with 7 outings totaling 27.84 hours of operation. Navigation channel inspections covered 317.67 kilometers, restoring one faulty navigation marker, ensuring that navigation markers within the jurisdiction were in good condition and the navigation environment remained generally safe and orderly.
At the same time, the bureau strictly adhered to the holiday duty system, maintained smooth communication, conducted one emergency drill, and strengthened safety management of office locations, docks, and ships using the video surveillance system. Emergency response teams, materials, and equipment were in good condition, enabling rapid response and efficient handling, ensuring comprehensive safety and smooth operation of the Yangtze River channel during the holiday.
